In a sparkling industry, Ampcontrol is providing electrical support to Botswana’s largest diamond project, Majwe Mining.

Ampcontrol is continuing to strengthen ties with the Chinese mining industry, recently signing on to supply underground power distribution equipment to one of the country’s largest mining companies.

Ampcontrol has been committed to encouraging and developing the skills of aspiring manufacturers through our longstanding apprentice and trainee program. The program has been running almost every year since our inception in 1968.

Manufacturing companies such as Ampcontrol Allenwest are vital to the health of Scotland’s economy and job market, Scotland’s Secretary of State Michael Moore said when he visited as part of his push for helping grow the country’s manufacturing sector.

Scottish based member company Allenwest Wallacetown is geared up for change having rebranded as Ampcontrol Allenwest on 1 September.

Ampcontrol recognises young engineers and endorses them for the Engineers Australia Young Engineer of the Year Award.

Congratulations are due to Ruiju Cai (Carol) from Allenwest Wallacetown Ltd who has achieved Chartered Engineering status.

In January 2011, Allenwest Wallacetown was delighted to present several long service awards to some dedicated staff members.

Allenwest Wallacetown’s Executive Director, James Walker OBE, has been appointed Scottish Engineering’s (the support group for the industry in Scotland) new president.  James has been appointed to the role for two years adding to his considerable commitments to the engineering industry.

Following a 4 year apprenticeship in partnership with Kilmarnock College, two employees recently received apprentice awards.

Allenwest Wallacetown exhibited at the Ugol Rossii & Mining from June 1st to the 5th as part of the ABMEC (Association of British Mining Equipment Companies) UK group. This was the 17th International Trade Fair for Mining technology held in Novokuznetsk in West Siberia.

On 24 April 2010 a group from Allenwest Wallacetown completed a charity hill walk to Glencoe in the highlands of Scotland.

Following a 4 year apprenticeship in partnership with Kilmarnock College, two of our apprentices recently received awards.

Every year the Ampcontrol Group make this award as part of its Community Relations Program. The award recognises those who contribute countless unpaid hours to organisations within the community.

To mark the occasion of the completion of their Modern Apprenticeship, Derek Gilmour and Andy Murphy were presented on 15 December 2009 with their certificates.

Also presented were their tradesmen's toolboxes - essential in their new role.
